he had it all, soul, heart, technique, harmony, beautiful melodically, innovation, composer..if i missed anything he definitely had it ..rest in peace🙏💔🎶
Just discovered this amazing artist, Michel Petrucciani, purely by accident, or was it fate? I was turning the radio dial and heard Renato Carosone performing Tu Voi Fare L' Americano, so I naturally stopped to enjoy. At the break, the DJ stated he was featuring famous Italian pianists. He described the next artist, Michel Petrucciani as French born but of Italian parents. He played Looking Up and I immediately fell in love with it. I used to be a big jazz fan, especially of upbeat and Brazilian jazz. This song immediately reminded me of Spyro Gyra. Now that I am exploring Michel Petrucciani, I am in awe. What a talent and a gift to all of us. So sad that he had such a difficult life, but so happy for him that he was able to live out his passion throughout his brief life of 36 years.
Just moving and beautiful! I had the enormous pleasure to see Michel Petrucciani in Hamburg in Roger Willemsen’s talk show , as a kind of his musical side kick, WILLEMSENS WOCHE.
I remember seeing this video on tv many years ago and I literally went out and got this cd. I was so happy to find this again after so many years….it is so magical..thank you Michael!

Extraordinario Maestro Michel Petrucciani.
I agree: he has is a giant at the piano. Truly great. His music will live for decades. RIP to a man that brought us joy but left to early.
Love when his hat blows off at the end. Brilliant musician and entertainer with self-deprecatory sense of humour.
It conveys the freedom, space and a lot of desire to travel
Nice view ay 3:25!!!
One of my favourite pianist's ever, particularly his work with Anthony Jackson, like this tune! Sadly missed.
